The engagement roadmap is in preview for select customers. If your org doesn’t have it, Engage shows the conversation roadmap instead.
Prerequisites
- An active Sales Strategy
- Edit access to the strategy to start or change a roadmap
- Optional: an Opportunity in progress, so the roadmap starts from the deal’s current stage
Quick reference
Start the roadmap
You can start the roadmap at any stage of the deal. You don’t need to finish Prospecting or have a completed meeting first.1
Click Start roadmap
Open a Sales Strategy, switch to the Engage tab, and click Start roadmap on the Secured a meeting? milestone at the end of the Prospecting timeline. ShiftUp opens a chat for the strategy.
2
Confirm the meeting details
If you secured a meeting, ShiftUp asks Who will attend the secured meeting? Select the attendees and click Confirm attendees.
3
Link an opportunity (optional)
Search open opportunities by name or stage, click Create opportunity, or click Continue without linking. If you link an Opportunity in progress, the roadmap starts from that stage. ShiftUp never changes the Opportunity’s stage.
4
Review the starting point
On the Review starting point card, expand Starting direction and Supporting evidence to check the facts. Click Generate roadmap to approve, or cancel to revise the starting point.
Work the roadmap
1
Review the current step
The current recommended step shows its title, instructions, and timing, such as Today or Within 3 days. Click the information button on the current stage milestone to see what the stage is about.
2
Work the step with ShiftUp AI
Expand Need help getting started? and click a conversation starter, or click the step’s action button. ShiftUp opens a new chat for the step. Use it to prepare, keep working, or revise the step.
3
Revise the step (optional)
Ask ShiftUp AI to change the step’s title, recommended action, stakeholder focus, success criteria, or timing. When ShiftUp asks Update the current roadmap step?, approve the change to save it.
4
Record what happened
Tell ShiftUp AI what happened. ShiftUp can suggest relevant meeting evidence from the last 30 days. Correct or ignore any suggestion.
5
Approve the outcome
Review the approval card. It shows whether you completed the step, the effect on the deal, the buyer’s response and commitment, who attended, and your notes. Approve the card to save the outcome. ShiftUp shows Preparing your next step while it generates the next recommendation.
Close the roadmap
When the deal ends, tell ShiftUp AI it closed. Approve Close this roadmap as Won or Lost. The roadmap shows a Closed Won or Closed Lost badge, and its completed steps stay readable.Tips
- ShiftUp AI can’t advance the roadmap until you explain what happened and approve the outcome.
- Closing the linked Opportunity in Salesforce doesn’t close the roadmap. Record Closed Won or Closed Lost in chat.
- Chats on the current step reopen in the chat sidebar. Chats on completed steps open as read-only transcripts.
