# Customize your workspace

> Reorder and resize widgets, save multiple layouts as views, and reset to your role's default — so the accounts, strategies, and approvals you care about surface first.

Your [workspace](/product/workspace) is a grid of widgets. Which widgets appear, in what order, and which is the row **hero** is driven by the active **view**. Admins ship persona defaults for reps, managers, and admins; each user can save their own views on top.

Use this when:

* The default layout doesn't lead with the widget you use most.
* You want a separate layout for different modes of work (for example, a rep view for prospecting and a manager view for approvals).
* You're an admin and want to change the default layout every rep, manager, or admin sees.

## Prerequisites

* Access to Workspace.
* To customize **persona defaults** (the layout every rep, manager, or admin sees before they save their own view), you need admin permissions.

## Switch between views

Views are named layouts you can jump between from the header picker.

1. Open the view picker in the workspace header.
2. Select the view you want. The grid re-renders to that layout.

From the view picker's row menu on any view, you can also:

* **Rename** a view.
* **Duplicate** a view — handy as a starting point for a new layout.
* **Delete** a view. You always keep at least one view.

## Customize the current view

1. Click **Customize** in the workspace header. The grid enters edit mode and the **Available widgets** tray opens.
2. **Drag** any widget to reorder it within its row. **Drop a widget between rows** to start a new row.
3. Add widgets from the **Available widgets** tray by dragging them onto the grid.
4. **Remove** a widget or an entire row you don't need using its remove control.
5. Toggle the **hero** on any widget to give it more space and richer detail (company logos, header KPIs, and detail lines like amount, close date, and summary). Each row has one hero.
6. Click **Save layout** to persist your changes, or **Cancel** to discard them.

<Tip>Not sure what a widget does before you add it? See the widget reference on the [Workspace page](/product/workspace#whats-on-the-workspace).</Tip>

## Save the current layout as a new view

1. Customize the grid to the layout you want.
2. Open the view picker and select **New view from current layout**.
3. Name the view and save.

The new view is added to the picker and becomes the active one. Your other views are unchanged.

## Reset to your role's default

If your current view has drifted and you'd rather start over from the layout your role ships with:

1. Click **Customize**.
2. Click **Reset to default**.
3. Click **Save layout**.

This restores the shipped default for your role (inbox-led for reps, pending-led for managers and admins). Your other saved views are untouched.

## Customize the default layout for a persona (admins)

Admins can change the layout every rep, manager, or admin sees before they save their own view.

1. Click **Customize**.
2. In the customize-target dropdown, pick the persona (**Reps**, **Managers**, or **Admins**) whose default you want to change.
3. Edit the grid the same way you'd edit your own view — reorder, add, remove, set the hero.
4. Click **Save layout**.

Personal views always win over persona defaults, so users who have already saved their own view keep theirs. Users who haven't saved a personal view pick up the new default on their next visit.
